My Community Credit Union (MCCU) is pleased to offer six $2,500 scholarships to student members. This scholarship is open to high school seniors, current college students, and members who want to further their education. Please download the attached application and return it to one of our branches or mail to My Community Credit Union, 600 W. Louisiana, Midland, TX 79701, ATTN: Marketing. DEADLINE - April 17, 2026.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Scholarship applicant (not applicant's parent) must be a MCCU member with a checking and/or savings account prior to applying.
- Applicant's account must be in good standing.
- Applicant be enrolled as a full-time student as defined by students’ college or university.
- Applicant must submit all required attachments with application; incomplete applications will not be eligible.
- Awards must be used for the 2026-2027 school year.
- Applications must be postmarked by April 17, 2026 in order to be considered.
- Scholarship recipients must maintain their membership with My Community Credit Union throughout award period.
Award Criteria:
In addition to eligibility guidelines, the following will be considered in selecting recipients.
- Academic Performance — Academic performance and honors (On a 4.0 scale, a GPA of 3.0 or higher is recommended), class rank, and ACT/SAT test scores (a minimum SAT score of 800 and/or a minimum ACT score of 19 is highly recommended).
- Activities — Community and school activities, involvement, leadership positions, and awards/recognition
- Recommendations & Transcripts
- Essay — On assigned topic

Congratulations to the 2026 My Community Crossroads Scholarship Winners!
Every year, My Community awards $2,500 scholarships to deserving members who have demonstrated academic achievement and desire to pursue higher education. It is our honor to help our members achieve their education goals.
Awards were based on academic achievement, writing assessments, recommendations, and transcripts, as well as the student’s potential, character, leadership and financial need.

Alexander Vester

My name is Alex Vester, I am a senior at Lovejoy High School, and I plan to join the United States Coast Guard in August. My hobbies include soccer, fishing, and golf. While I am enlisted, I will take classes and get my bachelor’s degree from the United States Naval Community College. Winning this scholarship would help me pay for college and allow me to serve our country while furthering my education.
Ethan Hammontree

Ethan Hammontree is a senior at Midland Classical Academy in Midland, Texas, where he has maintained a 4.0 GPA and will graduate with honors. He will attend Southern Methodist University in the fall of 2026, where he plans to study finance and data analytics while continuing his swimming career at the Division I level. Ethan has been recognized for his academic achievements through multiple honors, including the All-A-Honor Roll and USA Swimming Scholastic All-American.
Faith Dolan

Faith Dolan is from Midland, TX, and is currently pursuing her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Texas Tech University. There, she conducts research regarding treating marginalized populations in counseling and the effects of trauma on mental well-being. Upon graduation, she will become a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate. In the future, she hopes to open a private practice and earn her Ph.D. in Counselor Education. Faith also enjoys writing, yoga, traveling, volunteering, and advocacy work.
Gavin Gray

Gavin is an AP Scholar with Distinction and a four year academic letterman. He is Vice President of the Student Council, Senior Class Vice President, and Vice President of the National Honor Society. He is also a member of the Honors Academic Decathlon Team, Superintendent’s Advisory Council, and founder of MHS Pickleball Club. Outside of school Gavin leads guitar in his church’s youth band and has been involved in both the Midland Youth Advisory Council and the August Pfluger Congressional Youth Advisory Council. Gavin plans to study electrical & computer engineering and business at the University of Texas at Austin and hopes to combine his interests in engineering and biology to help create biomedical devices that bridge the gap between technology and human health.
Madelyn Valles

My name is Madelyn Valles, and I am graduating from Midland Classical Academy in May 2026. I am excited to start my collegiate academic career at Texas A&M University this fall, where I will major in Business Administration with the hopes of attending Medical School after graduation. While at Midland Classical I have excelled both academically and athletically. Through hard work and much diligence, I have been able to obtain a 4.0 grade point average. I have learned many life lessons through athletics and lettered in both basketball (3 years) and track (2 years). I was honored to be selected as an All-District pick in basketball for three years and earned academic All-State in both sports. In my free time I love spending time with my family and friends, being active, exploring the outdoors, and finding new hobbies. I love to work hard and have maintained various jobs while balancing my academics, sports, and social life.
Noelle McGill

Noelle is a senior at Lovejoy High School who is thrilled to be attending college this fall. Inspired by her younger brother with Down Syndrome, she has developed a deep commitment to empathy and inclusion. As a Peer Assistant Leader (PAL) and Special Olympics Unified Partner, she works to create spaces where students of all abilities feel seen. Passionate about creative expression, she has led skill-building initiatives and designed sensory tools for Special Education curricula. An accomplished pianist and visual artist, she’s earned multiple Scholastic Art Awards, including Gold Key, Silver Key, and Honorable Mention distinctions. Whether promoting drives for WE Club or working at a local Italian restaurant, she approaches every experience with purpose and a genuine desire to give back to the community that shaped her.
Sienna Rodriquez

My name is Sienna Ridriquez, I am a senior at Midland High School and currently Captain of the Midland High School Varsity Starz Dance Team. while taking dual credit through Midland College to graduate with my certificate as a Pharmacy Technician. I am a first-generation in my family and I plan to attend Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi in the fall of 2026. I intend to major in Biomedical Science and minor in Spanish. Upon receiving these two degrees I plan to apply to Pharmacy School to get my Doctor of Pharmacy Degree (PharmD) and Masters of Business Administration (MBA). The future goal is to open my own retail pharmacy. I would like to create a pharmacy environment that helps improve education and knowledge of medications to the community.
Sofiya Khan

Sofiya Khan is a Health and Society student at the University of Texas at Austin, with the Pre-Health Professions Certificate for Science Majors, on the medical track. She has received her Human Subjects Research Training. During her undergraduate studies, she conducted a semester-long research project studying underserved communities and health outcomes in Odessa, Texas.
Sofiya has received university honors list recognizing her academic excellence and is passionate about social and science studies, helping understand underserved communities. Outside of academics, she serves as Vice President of Longhorn Mindful Miles, a student organization dedicated to promoting mental and physical well-being. She is also actively involved in Triumph Over Kids Cancer, where she volunteers at Dell Children’s Medical Center, supporting children diagnosed with cancer. She is a judge and a mentor for elementary kids in the Greater Austin Regional Science and Engineering Fair. She participates in philanthropic fundraising events and helps children in need.
Tyler LaGrace

Tyler LaGrace is a senior at Lovejoy High School who will attend Collin College this fall to pursue a degree in business. He has a strong interest in entrepreneurship and has already begun his journey as a franchisee with Port of Subs. Tyler has long been driven by the goal of building his own business, and he views higher education as a key step to achieving that ambition.
Outside of his academic pursuits, Tyler enjoys golfing, fishing, and participating in robotics, where he has developed valuable skills in teamwork and problem-solving. He is committed to continuing his personal and professional growth as he works toward a future in business ownership and community impact.
Walter Guerrero

My name is Walter Guerrero, and I’ll be graduating from Legacy High School! This fall, I’ll be making my way over to Baylor University as I am majoring in Entrepreneurship and Corporate Innovation for my BBA, with future plans to attend Baylor Law School and then eventually to become a Human Injury Lawyer. I am a first-generation student, so academics have always been a crucial part of my educational experience. However, I have had many hobbies that I am more than proud to take part in, including cross country and track, as well as having my own freelance photography business. Furthermore, I strive to make an impact in any way I can by doing community service through my National Honor and Spanish Society memberships and helping others in as many ways as possible, as I grew up. I would not be where I am today without my parents Efrain and Gabriela Guerrero, so I am more blessed by God to have all these opportunities.
